3.5" embedded board with Intel Whiskey Lake processors

Contradata presents the new WAFER-ULT5 from IEI Integration, a powerful 3.5" single-board-computer based on the eighth generation of Intel Core processors (Whiskey Lake family).



 

 

Compared to the previous generation of Intel Kaby Lake processors, the Whiskey Lake family offers a performance increase of up to 40% with quad core variants starting from the Intel Core i5-8365UE version. All processors use DDR4 memories up to 2400MHz and the board supports up to 32GB.

Like all IEI embedded boards, the WAFER-ULT5 has been developed for industrial and medical applications and offers features specifically designed for this type of application. The operating temperature range is between -20 ° and + 60 ° C and the board will have extensive availability over time to offer stability to device manufacturers.

 

WAFER-ULT5 supports 3 independent displays via two HDMI 1.4 ports and one LVDS interface. The on-board I/O set is particularly rich: 3x Gigabit LAN, 1x RS-232, 1x RS-232/422/485, 4x USB 3.1 Gen2, 2x USB 2.0, I2C, 8x Bit Digtal I/O and HD Audio. For storage there are 1 SATA III port and an mSATA socket while for expansion cards there is a Mini PCI Express socket (alternative to the mSATA port) and an M.2 socket for 2230 A Key format cards. The board requires a single 12 VDC voltage for power supply.


 

In support of the WAFER-ULT5, Contradata offers an extended range of modules and industrial peripherals to integrate additional functions if the already rich set on board is not enough. Interfaces such as serial ports, CAN ports, LAN ports and many others can therefore be implemented via optional modules.
