Ultra compact edge computer for deep learning applications

Contradata presents to the Italian market the new ITG-100AI by iEi Integration, an ultra compact edge computer that integrates the dual core Intel Atom x5-E3930 processor and the Mustang-MPCIE- MX2 ​​module with two Intel Movidius Myriad X MA2485 VPU chips, dedicated to inference in industrial deep learning applications.

VPU is short for "Vision Processing Unit". VPUs are chips dedicated to neural networks processing in order to download the CPU, optimizing the workload of the whole system. Intel Movidius VPUs are indeed perfect for interoperating with the Intel OpenVino toolkit, a suite of software tools to implement pre-trained existing neural models into deep learning applications.


Limited space is a typical constraint of the industrial environment. ITG-100AI is a powerful and ultra-compact edge computer that integrates a complete I/O set for the factory environment: 2x GbE LAN, 2x RS-232/422/485, 2x USB 3.2, VGA output and optional Wi-Fi. The system has an operating temperature range from 0 ° to + 50 ° C, a wide range power input from 9 to 36 VDC and can be mounted on a DIN rail; features that make it perfect for installations in industrial cabinets. From a software point of view ITG-100AI supports  Linux Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Microsoft Windows 10 IoT Enterprise operating systems.
