COM Express is an open industry standard for computer on modules, regulated by the PICMG consortium. The standard defines a series of “small form factors” for CPU modules intended for various types of industrial applications and various interconnection systems to the carrier board which can be standard or customized by the user, respecting the criteria set out in the various design guides, provided for each COM Express substandard. There are currently 3 main extensions: type 6, type 7 and type 10.
